The sateen and the threads woven in imitation of wild silk are like scattered spices and are no less precious, because the journey that the new Eustergerling fabrics have made from the moment the idea was conceived to the moment it was realized is enormous.
Where caravans brought spices, fabrics, gems and ivory to Europeans, it was customary to celebrate life and spring. The locals painted everything around with bright colors at the festival of Holi, strove to give each day its own flavor and paid special attention to spices, an interest that quickly caught on in Europe.
But not only spices are felt in Silk Road collection. Next to them, the colors of the Indian festival of Holi, which is celebrated in India and Nepal, unfold and blossom on jacquard sateen in an unusual design. The popularity of this festival of fun, during which everyone dances and paints each other with bright colors, has long gone beyond India, and it has also become part of this collection.
It is a special pleasure to look at the fabrics up close, admiring the elaborate contrasts, like grains scattered across the fabric, which emphasize the difference in textures and the bold harmony of shades. The absence of contrasts in the case of similar tones gives the fabrics a special charm: direct light visually darkens the convex inserts, and when the glare leaves the base, they become much brighter, showing their color in full force.
BARGELLO LEAVES fabric imitates the technique of Florentine Bargello embroidery. However, in this case it is stylized to the collection in a softer reading. The multicolored voluminous embroidery consists of 100% cotton threads on a coarse, colored canvas, which is particularly soft thanks to 45% viscose and 15% linen combined with 40% polyester. The composition of the fabric best reveal its beauty and emphasize how elaborate, unusual, spectacular and textured it is. The embroidery is very dense, made on a slightly translucent canvas and allows light to shine through the veins, creating a play of light and shadow in the interior.
Both fabrics are quite soft, but in drapery are characterized by beautiful folds. The fabric imitating wild silk has texture, heterogeneous structure, uneven knotted thickened threads. Smooth and even satin with decorative elements, on the contrary, contrasts with dyed multifiber threads. Each fabric not only looks spectacular and is pleasant to the touch, but also supports the overall concept of the catalog, which celebrates life in full force: rich, full of colors and tastes.
The collection has taken the best from natural materials, but is based on artificial ones. This approach has avoided the weaknesses of wild silk: both fabrics do not lose their qualities when exposed to sunlight and do not require complicated maintenance. A width of 3 meters and the possibility to dial up the fabrics in both height and width make them as practical as possible.
